Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 26, 2026

Summary: Hotel Scanner does not collect or store any personal information. All processing happens locally in your browser. The only external communication is with the b0arding.com API to check hotel prices.

1. What Hotel Scanner Does

Hotel Scanner is a browser extension that automatically checks if a hotel you are viewing on supported booking sites (Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda, Trivago, Kayak, HotelsCombined, Priceline) is available at a lower price on b0arding.com.

2. Data We Read From Pages

When you visit a hotel detail page on a supported site, Hotel Scanner reads:

This data is used solely to query the b0arding.com API for a price comparison. It is not stored anywhere beyond the current page session.

3. External Communication

Hotel Scanner sends the hotel name, dates, and price to b0arding.com to retrieve comparison pricing. This is the only external service the extension communicates with. No data is sent to any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

4. Data We Store Locally

Hotel Scanner stores the following in your browser's local extension storage:

This data never leaves your browser and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing extension data in your browser settings.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

6. Affiliate Relationship & Cookies

Hotel Scanner is a partner of b0arding.com. When you click "Check your price on b0arding.com", the extension sets an affiliate referral parameter (tscode=GENESIS) in the URL and as a cookie on b0arding.com. This ensures the referral is correctly attributed so Hotel Scanner earns a small commission when you complete a booking — at no extra cost to you.

This is the only cookie Hotel Scanner interacts with. No personal data is read from or written to cookies. The cookie is set on b0arding.com only, not on any other site.

7. Third-Party Services

The only third-party service used is b0arding.com for hotel price lookups and affiliate tracking. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy at b0arding.com/privacy.

8. Permissions Explained

9. Data Deletion

To delete all data stored by Hotel Scanner, simply remove the extension from your browser. Alternatively, go to your browser's extension settings and clear the extension's storage data.

10. Children's Privacy

Hotel Scanner is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
